Fair Wages & Workers’ Rights Advocacy

At Kashmir Labours Welfare Association (KLWA), we strongly believe that every worker deserves fair compensation for their labor. Unfortunately, many workers, especially daily-wage laborers, face exploitation in the form of underpayment, wage theft, and lack of financial security. Our Fair Wages Advocacy program is dedicated to ensuring that all workers receive just compensation, dignified working conditions, and protection against unfair labor practices.

Our Initiatives

1. Campaigns for Minimum Wage Compliance

Many laborers are unaware of the government-mandated minimum wages. KLWA works to:

  • Raise awareness about minimum wage laws and fair payment policies
  • Advocate for proper implementation of labor laws
  • Report cases of wage violations and underpayment

2. Legal Support for Wage Disputes

Workers facing wage theft or exploitation often lack legal assistance. KLWA provides:

  • Free legal consultations for underpaid workers
  • Support in filing wage-related complaints and disputes
  • Assistance in securing unpaid wages through legal channels

3. Awareness Workshops on Workers’ Rights

Education is the first step toward empowerment. KLWA organizes workshops to educate laborers on:

  • Their rights under labor laws and fair wage policies
  • Protection against forced labor and workplace exploitation
  • How to negotiate better wages and work conditions

4. Advocacy for Social Security Benefits

Many workers are unaware of the social security benefits they are entitled to. KLWA helps laborers access:

  • Provident fund and pension schemes
  • Health insurance and accident coverage
  • Government relief programs for labor welfare

5. Employer Engagement & Ethical Wage Practices

KLWA collaborates with businesses and industries to:

  • Promote ethical wage practices and fair employment contracts
  • Encourage companies to follow fair wage policies
  • Develop employer-employee dialogue for better labor relations
